Are you asking how you can stop your hair from falling out?

Hair loss can occur in both men and women, but is obviously more common among older men. Regardless of your age and gender, though, you should know that it can be associated be with a genetic disposition similar to diabetes or eye color. Of course, hair loss isn’t a disease or illness, but it can be a nuisance and can require some work if you want to prevent or stop it.

Aside from genetics, though, there are a number of other reasons why you might be susceptible to hair loss:

Too many chemical treatments over a long period of time

Overexposure to heat, even hot water

Malnutrition

Mistreatment and abuse

Obviously, you have to keep your hair clean, so you will have to wash and condition it. However, you can use hair products that are all natural and better for you than synthetic products. Similarly, you can use hair products that are fortified with vitamins and minerals as well as natural oils that help to keep your scalp moisturized and strong. Also, it can be a good idea to avoid using extremely hot water and comb or brush your hair slowly and smoothly, especially if you are concerned about hair loss.

Speaking of vitamins, it never hurts to take a multivitamin/mineral every day. It can help in many ways, but if you are concerned about hair loss it can help make up for genetic deficiencies you might have or any holes in your diet. Accordingly, you can change your diet too.

Finally, there are several medications that can also help if you are concerned about hair loss. Obviously, you will have to talk to your doctor about these to see if it is a viable option for you.

Hair fall is often a result of dryness of the scalp or may be a result of lack of proteins, iron or even water. Firstly try to grease your hair with olive oil every week, followed by washing with a good brand of shampoo. Drink loads of water, eat proteins. You can take folic acid tablets as well as they are considered good for hair but do consult your doctor. If the problem persists, consult a dermatologist.

Put a white of an egg in your hair like you would do for shampoo. Then wash it out and then shampoo your hair as normal with shampoo. When you dry your hair you will find it is really firm. If you want it silky then do the above but with the yellow of the egg. Don't ask me how I know this ......I just do:D

It is more likely that your hair is falling out from the roots due to an underlying health problem than it is from excessive coloring.
Usually, over processing the hair with chemicals such as hair color and perms, will cause breakage on the hair shaft.
I have seen instances of hair falling out at the scalp from truly excessive overprocessing, but it was always due to a combination of coloring and perming or coloring and straightening the hair with a chemical relaxer.
Suggest that you see a doctor for a check-up, first thing.
Your hair will grow back if it is falling out because of overprocessing.
To speed the hair growth process and promote healthy hair, you can go to most any health and vitamin store, purchase a bottle vitamins designed especially for hair care. Also stimulating the scalp through massage will help to speed hair growth.
Extreme stress and certain medications such as; blood pressure meds, can also cause hair loss.

Someone has told me to mix yoghurt with egg and then add some oil in it (olive oil or mustard oil). Massage your hair with this mixture and leave on your hair for about an hour before washing your hair. If someone tries it, let me know if it works because I have started doing this, but things don't change overnight

I lose my hair too. I'm very young and I lose so much hair it's not even funny. I try not to stress about it because my family has thick hair. I use Aussie Shampoo and conditioner and it makes me hair better not as much of losing hair but I still lose it. It grows back though. Your hair will grow back too.

Hi autumn46!

Hair loss can be caused by alopecia, medication, diet or a low thyroid level.

I also lose quite a bit of hair, but I know that two of my MS medications can cause that, as well as my being hypothyroid (I had my thyroid gland removed in 2002). And alopecia runs in my family!
If that ain't enough to give you stress, then what is?

The only thing I can suggest is to make an appointment with your doctor for a check-up and eat a balanced diet, drink enough plain water, and get enough sleep.

Good luck, and please let us know how you make out!

Streets is another big factor of losing hair. Also if you are malnourished that has a toll on you hair also as you get older. But you normally lose hair every day but if you believe that you r just losing to much hair you should seek medical help because it may be something serious. Hope this helps.

Having hair fall has many causes. Maybe when shampooing your hair, you never rinse it thoroughly. Or you are too rush and haggard in washing your hair. Try to do it gently so as to avoid damaging your hair, which make it brittle.

Try shampoos, that will strengthen your hair.

Or maybe, you have a bald family history^^, hehehe but it might be true. This is hereditary, or it means this can be passed from one generation to another. This has a cure nowadays. There are shampoos which will regulate your hair fall. Try it ^^

Hello, I am a Cosmetologist. My hair sheds a lot as well. There is no real cure. All you can do is schedule 2week Salon appts, Keep your ends trimmed & try using deep Conditioners. There are protein treatments you can buy from the beauty store, that works well, But it does strip your relaxers. Also you have to remember that when your hair sheds its dead hair moving out the way for new hair.  My advice is start going to a salon & stick with 1 stylist

You may want to evaluate if the hair loss is worse, after dying your hair w/ store bought dye! Your climate and change of seasons are also a good reason for hair loss and the fluctuation in how much and when. FROM MY OWN EXPEIENCE I QUIT USING STORE BOUGHT DYE. NOW I GET MY HAIR COLORED FROM A SALON, MUCH LESS HARSH. I ALSO STARTED TAKING PRENATAL VITAMENS FROM OVER THE COUNTER COMBINED WITH GOOD FOOD AND LOTS OF WATER! MY HAIR HAS QUIT FALLING OUT ALMOST ALL TOGETHER IT DID TAKE SOME TIME BUT STICK WITH IT!

Here's a few tips to help you:

  • Try to relax and have an optimistic view on things. A healthy mind leads to a healthy body.
  • Stick to one shampoo or gel.
  • Try
not to use straighteners, curlers or other chemical products such as
dyes excessively, these can damage your hair if used too frequently.
  • Oiling your hair can help keep hair healthier.
  • Doing
'Headstand' pose of yoga for about a minute daily reduces the hair
fall. But please consult your doctor before doing this pose.
  • As you get older, your hair gets weaker so don't be too worried if a few strands of hair falling occasionally.

Honestly, you can't do anything about it. It is genetic and there is no real treatment available. Do not be fooled by expensive products that you see on TV. Marketed products are waist of your money. Get used to your appearances, wear a hat if possible or shave. Unfortunately, when it comes to hair, we are not all created equal.

Hi, your hair loss could be coming from not using clean water to wash your hair. The water could contain too much chlorine. Try using filtered water. Also, you may need to add to your diet, some all natural nutrition's. Perhaps, you need a complete Wellness Home.

You can't; it may be stress (as in my case). Try to de-stress as much as possible (yoga etc.) and it should regrow.

God people! If you hair is falling it"s because its genetic and there is nothing you can do about that. Don't start buying expensive things because it's not going to make a difference.

What an idiot, if your hair is falling out it is not necessarily a genetic problem. There can be many reasons why a persons hair falls out. Your hair can fall out because of stress, lack of iron, hormonal changes, during certain times of your cycle, or you can even have a thyroid problem etc.
