How Long Should You Wait Before Dyeing Your Hair Again?

It really all depends on whether or not your hair FEELS damaged. Is it breaking? Frizzy? Dry? If it isn't particularly damaged, I say go for it. Most hair dyes today are far less damaging, some actually condition your hair.
If the hair shaft is damaged after bleaching, I think it's best to deep condition your hair every few days (if you have thick or coarse hair like me, I recommend sleeping with conditioner in) and if it's looking healthier then dye it. If not, keep conditioning and re-evaluating.

My question is ... I used to have blonde hair. I had high lights but pretty much my hair was blonde. Three months ago like around October 2013 I dyed my hair dark brown because I got tired of the blonde and because it was making my hair unhealthy, damage, and my ends were breaking. The dark brown started fading away. After three long months my grandma decides to dye my hair which I choose the color black for my hair on (Jan 18, 2014 Saturday) that's when my grandma dyed my hair. When my hair was dyed I washed it then I blow dry my hair. The next day (Jan 19, 2014 Sunday) when I was straighten my hair a little I noticed that some spots on my hair wasn't dyed but you can't really tell though. Today Monday I decided to dye my hair all black again to fix the spots that weren't dye but before I dye my hair I heard you have to wait 14 days so that you could dye your hair again. So I don't know what to do and I'm afraid to dye it and then my hair falls out . What do you advice me to do? because a lot of people giving all kinds of different advices and etc....

I bleached my hair and hated it...it was the worst mistake ever...so I dyed it 2 days later and it was fine my hair was damaged but I used v05 oils everyother day for about 5 days and it was fine. So I recommened dye it when you like just not to often and after being dyed just make sure you treat your hair properly try not to hair dry it and straighten it as often for about a week and leave on condition for a good 20 mins well in the shower before taking it off.

Though some people prefer to wait as long as two to three months between reapplying hair dye, a period of six to eight weeks is sufficient enough to reapply hair dye. Permanent colouring dyes contain a greater quantity of Ammonia and Peroxide where as temporary hair dyes contain either none or negligible quantities. Extended use of these chemicals is harmful to the hair and damages the same.

Depending to the type of dye used a temporary dye should last around a month before starting to loose colour. It is recommended to condition your hair regularly before and after using hair dyes and not to dye hair if it appears damaged. Generally it is recommended to dye ones hair to shades similar to ones own and if alternate shades are needed then to use some bleach before hand.

You should (RE-TOUCH) your hair once it grows out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from your scalp.
Apply the color to New Growth only, leave in for 15 to 20 minutes, then apply remaining haircolor to the rest of the hair for no more than 5 to 10 minutes.
I mix a little water in the color before applying it to the rest of the hair to weaken the developer. (After doing the roots/new growth). That will cause the color to deposit only and will keep your hair much healthier and you won't be over processing it. You run the risk of dried out, dull, broken off hair, otherwise.
The first 15 minutes of coloring is lift, after that is deposit. Once the hair has been lifted from previous coloring, it doesn't need to be lifted again and since haircolor will not lift hair color, you just end up with dry hair and breakage if you apply the color all over the hair every time you color it.

I have actually heard its about two to three months.I dye my hair every three to four months and my hair actually falls out a lot, I'm constantly pullin strands off my clothes, and clumps in the shower, so I don't suggest doing it a lot

Four days ago a salon bleached and toned my hair . The result was a total nightmare .so I went to walmart and bought a non permanent hair color the next day. It has been 48 hours since I added the color & now I want to use a permanent hair color because I really like the color. Is it to soon to do this 48 hrs. After using a non permanent coloring?

I have dark brown hair & recently was using that spray in hair lightner that works with either the sun or blow dryer. Well, my hair got too light & I hated it as did my bf. I went & bought Feria Permanent Hair color in the darkest brown they had & it looks fine, but I want it darker. I dyed it yesterday & want to dye it again today (next day), is it ok? My hair is not fried at all, it is actually very healthy & I think the permanent hair color is ammonia free.
