It is advisable not to pierce your chin at home. Infact in that case if you want to get a piercing anywhere on your body then please do it from a recognized piercing parlour. It is very important that the parlour is clean and well looked after. You can actually run through your yellow pages to find a piercing parlour in your area. Try and avoid getting such kind of piercing in areas like malls, markets and pubs as people out here might be doing it just for money and nothing more.

After you are done with piercing it is very essential that you take good care of it. It is advisable that you do not touch the piercing for at least the first 4 to 5 hours. Please watch for some safety and hygiene reasons like check if the needle is new, clean gloves as well as new jewellery.

I've never seen a chin piercing..but there is always a chance that you can hit a nerve or blood vessel and neither of those are good. I'm sure you wouldn't want to paralyze your chin. So please do go get it professionally done. It's usually only $20 and some places do fun discounts.

Thank you for your courage in speaking up. Whatever these people feel they have to do to disfigure themselves, I prefer they have a professional do, rather than take a chance on doing serious damage.

Hi there,
As always I'd recommend doing some research into this piercing at www.bmezine.com and then decide if its for you before going to a professional.

research is excellent idea, and even better, about the professional. Thank you for dissuading someone from disfiguring themselves at home.
