The white stuff is not puss it is lymph it is part of the healing process, I had mine done 6 days ago, and I have some white lymph around the bar, but just use mouthwash watered down (1 part mouthwash to 2 parts water) and also clean the tongue bar and around the bar with a soft brissled tooth brush ( a babys toothbrush works wonders) I just dip the tooth brush in the watered down mouthwash and just wash around it :) the pierced told me I can change the bar within 10days and the swellen will be down within 4 days (which it was) I also worried about the whitish "puss" but I was assured that it is perfectly normal and part of the healing process :D
Hope this was helpfull..
I got my tongue pierced thursday its now sunday..its goin good..it was really swollen but it went down alittle I can eat now..I just chew with the back of my teeth real slow with small bites an I drink a lot of slushes an smoothies...but I have a pain under my chin on the left..the piercer said its normal.its just the barbell aggrevating under your tongue..I saw someone said use lots of listerine...thats a NO NO....you use absolutely no kind of listerine...only use mouthwash with no alcohol...or use sea salt an warm water..saly water makes it heel faster too..hope I helped
Your professional piercer should be able to tell you this/should've told you before you got pierced.
The healing time is 6 weeks. After two weeks you can get a smaller size barbell, then you still need to wait 4 weeks. Some take shorter, some take longer.
What kind of lump do you have? You should get back to your piercer to check it out! It could just be healing tissue but it could also be an infection. And important, infections in the head-area are never a smart idea (close to your brain).
I had my tounge pierced about 3 weeks ago and had it changed to a smaller bar on christmas eve. But I still have a little hard lump around the peircing. But ive been told its normal. All my other mates who have had it done have all hard a small hard lump and it will dissapear after the piercing begins to heal xx
I believe that tongue piercings heal pretty quickly (well within a week or two), which is why people who have them, have to use them or they will close up easily. The other issue with them, is they can be a possible hep C problem or entry route, because while they are pierced (or kept pierced), they are always open; they don't totally heal around the piercing like an ear piercing does.
I had my tongue pierced on thursday (now sunday) I have had no problems so far. The only thing that is bugging me is how big the initial bar is.... My tongue did not swell at all.. I sucked ice for the first 6 hours I got it done which refrained any swelling. I love my piercing. Good luck with yours... I advise listerine for washing your mouth out with and ice... Lots and lots of ice .
I got my tongue pierced a week ago today... I was in some bad shape 4 about 3 days, all I could do was drink soup and juice.. I did do some ice but I drank a lot of milk shakes and slushies. Now thats its been a week I can really eat up some food I take small bites and chew slowly. I either got pierced with a short bar bell or have a really fat tongue because I need a longer one... Anyway all in all I love it.
Its ganna suck for 3 days by day 4 you can eat again
Yea I have the same thing I don't know if its infected
Do some research on www.bmezine.com, you don't mention if you're following the proper aftercare but there's plenty of information on this site.
Okay I have a question I got my tongue pierced a couple days ago. The piercing is pretty far back because I had braces and I didn't want to mess up my teeth. My tongue is pretty swollen but the thing I'm worried about is I have a stinging pain down the front/ right side of my neck, is that normal? I'm super worried that its infected.
I got my tongue pierced on monday its now wednesday. I have 3 small white balls around the piercing, it looks like skin tags almost...my teacher who had hers done said thats normal and they will just fall off eventually. Everyones tongue will heal differently..I think its just from eating...Btw I eat like a cow just like I did without the tongue ring... You just have to eat slow so you don't bite the ball...so everyone who says you can't eat after you get it don't is a fib...ive had no problem eating and mine barely hurts =]
I never had it done but my niece have a tongue piercing and it take all most two weeks to heal up if you have one and it did not heal up then go to the doctor.
Good news peeps, my tongue is now fine. The lump was swelling and there was puss but it was "good puss" now it is fine and I need a shorter barbell this week. Thanks though folks
I had my tongue done yesterday. And iv had no problems with it so far. No swelling or nothing. I'm guessing if you have no problems it will heal between a week or two. If your tongue swells maybe slightly longer.
My neck has a stinging pain from the piercing too. I got it done yesterday and the left side hurts like hell. Like the left side of my neck!
I had my tongue piercing almost a year ago now. It took mine about a week to fully heal and I've never had any problems with it! :)
Okay, I really want my tongue pierced, and 3 of my friends have had it done and there have been no infections, I'm currently doing my gcses, so I worried if I get it now, then it might ruin my exams as it may become infected? Any ideas guys xx
I got mines done like 2 weeks ago(: I love it ^__^ But I later found that My teeth went crooked a bit, FML. But The day after I got it, I ate regularly but very slow. I also have puss coming out but I just dab it with a napkin, My Piercer gave me this H2Ocean Mouthwash, It does wonders(:
Yes, it is infected because you should not have a lump on your tongue at all please go to the doctor for it but it take up two weeks to heal up.
