It completely depends on the individual's healing process. Some say it's also dependent on the size of the gauge. The standard gauge tends to close up pretty quickly. In most cases about 36 hours but can be one day to three weeks. My guess is it would be safe to take it out for an interview or even a day. Just so you know they can always re-pierce it for you in which case if you plan to take your ring out often you might consider a larger gauge.
