Of course it is ok, it is actually recommended that you shower after tanning, to remove any oils or lotions from your body, otherwise they turn to dirt, and you can see it in the pores of your skin. It is also recommended that you use plenty of regular hydrating lotion during the first month of tanning to insure your tans survival, and keep your skin from drying up. Drinking a lot of water when you are tanning up until you have reached your primary base tan also keeps your body from feeling dehydrated.

I typically will wait 2-3 hours after tanning in a tanning bed simply because I use a BRONZER lotion (if not then you wont gt the full effect of the bronzers in the lotion)... If you're using a tingler, regular based lotion or no lotion at all (always use a lotion, otherwise you're skin is going to dry out, the tan wont last very long, and it's even worse for your skin then tanning is already) then you can shower whenever you want. Yes, it's true that your skin will continue to tan hours after being in the tanning bed/outside. BUT the process of your pigment getting tanned goes from the INSIDE-OUT... Its actually suggested to make sure you use a loofa and exfoliate once a week while tanning because it'll get rid of the dead skin cells and will help your tan get darker more easily. The comment above is kind of rediculous... How can a shower stop YOUR SKIN from tanning? Its not on top of your skin like a spray tan.. It IS your skin haha

It is best to wait at least 3 to 4 hours after you lay in a tanning bed because, it is a proven fact that your body is actually still tanning for at least 3 hours after you get out of the bed.
