Generally, sun tan lotion can be used for up to three years just as long as it is not kept in high temperatures or in direct sunlight. This means that no matter where you are, you should keep the bottle of sun tan lotion out of the sun and in either a bag, the bottom of the car or in a cool box on the beach.

Although you can keep suntan lotion for up to three years, you should never use it when it has gone passed its use-by date as it will no longer be protective against the suns rays. Always make sure you have the right amount of protection and always reapply after you have been in the pool or after you have had it on for a long period of time.

If you are in any doubt at all, it is always safer to buy a new bottle and to throw the old stuff away. It is always better to be safe than sorry!

If it's been stored in a cool place it should be ok. But if the ingredients have separated you should throw it out.
Most lotions have a life of about 12 months from when they are first opened.
If you're at all concerned you should throw it out and buy a new bottle.
