Apparently, at Cambridge in England, gentlemen are even today expected to wear neckties all the time. One day, one gentleman asked, why must we wear the tie the same way everyday? Can we not wear it differently, or is there no other way in which to wear a tie? This interesting question brought forth even more interesting answers. Most men know about two ways to wear a necktie: the simple four in hand knot, and the Windsor knot. Not many people know that there is a half-Windsor knot, and there is also a Pratt knot. And not many people anywhere in the world are aware of the truth that there are eighty five ways to wear a necktie! This was a figure brought out by mathematicians Fink and Mao, who calculated that since the tie has two ends, and it can be moved from left to right, and right to left, the combinations could be 85 different ways of tying your tie!
