How Much Does A Cartilage Piercing Hurt?

I got mine done about 6 months ago. I had wanted it done forever and finally got up the nerves to go get it done. The only piercings I had before that were my lobes, and I got those done when I was a baby so I had no idea. I scared myself half to death with the fear of pain, and now I feel stupid about it because it didn't hurt at all. From 1-10 I would say a 2-3. It hurts about as much as a hard pinch for a quick second, or just biting your lip or something. Not bad at all

I got it done in blue banana with a needle. The clamp hurts more than the needle I reckon. Its fine though , promise :D  anyone who is scared .. Don't be..  I can't put pressure on it and my friend hit it today and its throbbing but otherwise its fine. Its almost.. A very hard quick pinch when the needle goes in but you feel good that its done, then theres a warm feeling! Then goes the earring. After it throbs a bit then it just feels warm. :D . Anyone that wants it done go !  Go get it done ! :D x

I got mine done like 3 weeks ago and it just felt like a pinch on your ear. (I got mine done with a needle) I suggest you get it done with a needle because it heels faster tht way. But the pain isn't the same as you just pinching your ear... It is quick and not very painful! After the first night I was able to sleep on it...and now just after a few weeks I have already taken it out and changed the earring :D mine only hurts if I really hit it or put a lot of pressure on it.

Okay, GUYS!!! A gun is *FINE*! I went to claire's and got it done on valentines day. When I got it it only hurt a lil more then the ear-lobe, and after it just got a little warm and thats ALL! People say you could shatter you cartilage and blah blah blah NOT TRUE!!! Alright? After a couple weeks I could even sleep on my ear. Yes it might be sore when you hit it, but not that bad. PEOPLE, STOP OVER REACTING!!! Guns are fine, and I love my piercing now :D

Getting your cartilage pierced is not extreme pain.
It stings.
Although I got mine done with a gun, there is no serious infection,
although I think that getting it done with a needle may hurt less and be safer, because it does not shatter the cartilage like guns can. You have to make sure to clean it a lot. Also it hurts when it gets caught on things such as a shirt or hair brush.

Are you wanting to get your ear cartilage pierced? I had mine done 2 times each ear, it's just a prick, like your ear lobes. It hurts to sleep on it the 1st couple nights, but it's not unbearable.

I am getting mine done next weekend & I'm scared it is going to hurt. I'm 14 going on 15 in four weeks. But I am really excited because I have a group of friends and we have all decided to get are cartilage's done. And I'm the 2nd to last one to get mine done! My friends ALL say there is no pain.... Just afterwards its HOT,STINGS,and it hurts to sleep on it. But I'm going to try NOT to get anything caught on it because then ill go crazy & scream. But if you have already gotten it done or getting it done... Make sure you take Tylenol (I know it might sound stupid!) but it will help not stop all of the pain but to make LESS pain then after you get it done. Hope I helped! :D

I got my cartilage pierced last friday, I honestly couldn't feel it, My nostril piercing hurt more. However it's like 4 days later and the pain is pretty high. It's really tender. But it'll hurt allot for the first 2 weeks but than it'll be good! So get it done. There so nice looking.

Cartilage piercings don't hurt. I got both mine dun a few days ago at the sam time. As long as your cleaning it everyday then its fine. An you its true woman have a high pain tolerance because we got to deal many things. I thing piercings are cool an I'm planning on getting more

I want my cartilage pierced but my mum says no at the minute but I am sure she will let me eventually.(any convincing tips??) Anyway I had my belly button done about 2 weeks ago and I didn't feel a thing. (I had the choice between my ear and my belly button and I chose my belly button. But now I want my ear done as well)

Hey. I got mine done about 3 days ago (with a gun) and I didn't feel a thing!
The only pain is the days after it and when you touch it/put pressure on it.
But it's different for everyone I guess.

Oh don't worry about it, if you want to get it done, I have mine pierced 4 times and each time I have done it myself, at first I was scared but it doesnt hurt at all, you just need 2 clean it and it will be fine, I promise. Plus I even pierced my lip twice, that doesnt hurt either the cartilage hurts more.

Not bad at all I had mine done when I was only ten I'm eleven now it was very sore at 1st but the actual piercing didn't hurt...my mom says a cartlidge hurts Moore than a belly button but it hurt to put pressure etc but I put an ice pack on it and it felt better go for it. What I like about. Cartlidge is you don't hVe to clean it every day like they say...I only clean mine like 1a month bt it doesn't hurt just the spray they use stings but on. A scale of one - ten I give it a 2. If even tht!!!!

I wouldnt say it really hurt me.. About 2-3 for pain, but afterwards it got more painful .. Especially when you catch it

It depends how afraid of needles you are lolz. I got my cartilage piercing done at Claires wich was a horrible idea. They use a gun to pierce your ear lobes & cartilage, that's just asking for a free infection. Either way it didnt hurt for me, I just felt pressure on my cartilage, but remember everyone is different. Good luck :)

Oh my god okay I want to get mine down and my bro and dad are goin to get tattoos done in two days and I want to get my cartilage pierced then but I am sooo scared like I mean I am pretty good wit pain but my eyes tear up easily and I don't want to loo k like a baby cryin in at a tattoo place

Not really mine hurt because my brother did it with a safety pin and shoved a 14 gage tongue ring through it but if you get it done right it wont hurt to bad depending on you pain tolerance

I want to get mine done but I'm torn between a gun and a needle.I've known so many people who have used a gun,and nothing has happened.All their piercings came out really well.

Usally Depends on what they do it with , I got mines done at   a tattoo shop which they used a needle . & to be honest I I did feel pain .

It depends on what gage they use to pierce it with. If its not done by a professional then I have no idea how bad it will hurt but I just got mine done yesterday and they used and 14 gage to pierce it and I have a 16 gage in it. It hurt really bad when I had it done, because the needle was hollow and they did not numb it. I bled also after they did it. And they told me that guys usually pass out after having it done.thats because  girls have a higher pain thresh hold than boys do. So it all just depends on how well you handle pain. And it hurts worse about 5-6 hours after.

Kind of it depends on your meaning of hurt for me on a scale of 1-10 10 being the highest level of hurt I would say 5-7 for me
