I don't think it much different from today, however, most of the fashion they wore back then is back today, but apart from the very high platform shoes, mini skirts, short pleated shirts, hot pants (very short shorts) trousers, jeans and belle bottom trousers( which had very wide legs and big afro hair. Every one dress differently, like today. Many women dressed in 1940-50 style o many of the things they wore then has come back in fashion now, like the style Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham) wears, that is the type of fashion of wardrobe women wore back then, so its not different and the guys didn't wear their trousers half way down the backside without a belt back in the 80's
