You only need to wrap a tattoo at night for the first three nights after you get it, and surprisingly, you wrap it with neosporin and cellophane wrap. This is just to protect it from infection and when I have gotten mine, I've been told to keep them wrapped day AND night for the first three days and nights. Again, it's just to protect the artwork, which is indelible of course; it won't run, but mostly to keep it from rubbing it against anything irritating, to protect it from the sun during the day, and to keep it free of infection. Your artist should have explained this to you.
