Avoid dark colours such as black as they will stand out too strongly against the dress and never match your dress to your shoes. It would be too much of the same colour if you matched from head to toe.
It is a good idea to match your shoes to your bag to ensure you look well co-ordinated and gold jewellery works well with coral, particularly if you have tan to give it a summery, vibrant look.
If you are still unsure of what to wear and how to co-ordinate your outfit, try using a search engine to find what other people have worn. ‘Google Images’ is a great tool to use to do this. It will bring up pages of people wearing coral dresses and many of these will be celebrities who have personal stylists to ensure they look perfect.
If you are lucky, there will be a full length photograph which will include the shoes, bag and jewellery which you can take inspiration and tips from. There may even be examples of celebrities who ‘got it wrong’ and wore something which did not match and you will clearly be able to see which shoes to avoid.
Remember, not only must your shoes match your dress, but they must also match the occasion. Make sure they are suitable for whatever situation you will be wearing the dress in.
