I Started Taking Biotin 1000mgs For An Extreme Hair Loss Due To Perms, Is That Too Much?

I'm not an expert on this subject, but from what I can tell that may be too much, yes. There was a study that said 3mg a day of biotin will improve your hair quality. Another one that used 2.5mg also showed improvement, so somewhere between those 2 should be OK.

Just remember that anything that goes in your body in excess can cause an imbalance, for example, a lot of biotin can cause probelms with insulin, so you need more vitamin C, B6 and increased blood sugar. That can lead to other problems with your health and so on.

Do you mean 1000 Micrograms?  The pills I've seen come in 1000 micrograms each.  If you are taking one of those, it would be the equivalent of 1 milligram.

I began taking biotin and actually noticed increase hair loss, I think that too much definitely causes hair loss.

I read  5000mg is the recommend dose. A lack of biotin would results in dermatitis and hair loss.  I think this is true because, I have been taking  hair,nail and skin product that contain biotin 3000mg and I still experience hair loss.
