Throughout history, women have used herbal rinses to beautify their hair. The three best-known herbs for hair are rosemary, sage, and chamomile. Brunettes should use rosemary and sage, and chamomile is the best choice for blondes.

The easiest way to use these herbs is to create an infusion (tea) or a decoction (boil the herbs in water for 20 minutes and then strain. Keep the herb water in the refrigerator and warm just before use). These can be poured over the hair as a final rinse after rinsing out shampoo.

If you want to treat your hair to an extra special herbal application, do the following.

Warm 1/4 cup olive oil in your microwave. Saturate dry hair with it and wrap your head in a towel for 10 minutes. Get into the shower and shampoo as usual. Then, rinse your hair well for as long as it takes to feel clean. Finally, pour over rinsed hair the following mixture: 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1 cup herb water as specified above, blended well. After you rinse your hair with this, give it a final rinse with plain water. Your hair will glow!
