If you are overweight, it is likely that you have plump and youthful-looking skin, with full cheeks.

I'd suggest a hairstyle that elongates your face and draws attention to your eyes - and your smile.

Short haircuts for overweight women
If you opt for a short hair cut, try to ensure that you don't go for anything too harsh.

Don't get a hairstyle that is too androgynous or masculine - rather, aim for soft lines around the face.

One of the best examples of a short haircut on a large woman would be the seductive Dawn French.

In the picture above, she has gone for an edgy, asymmetric cut that draws attention to her eyes and sense of style, and complements her youthful face.  This style would suit most face shapes.

If you have a wide jaw (also knows as a square face shape) you may need to soften and balance out your face.  You can achieve this by asking your hairdresser to 'feather' any of the hair framing your face.

I would recommend not going any shorter than the bottom of your ears, as this can accentuate a fuller face.

Yes, for overweight women, it tends to look really good if you have your hair cut to frame your face.

Yes, for overweight women I would suggest a tomboy hair cut. I am 53 and I am overweight.

I like the hairstyle where it's stacked in the back and angled longer towards the front. You can tease at the top back of your head (crown area).
