Can I use Retin A cream (.05%) right after I use a dermaroller of 1mm on my face? I heard that Retin A has its best effect after needling....

I kind of thought the dermaroller was more effective, and that the Retin A cream didn't improve my scars or skin condition much. But to answer your question, yes it should be safe. Just watch out to lower your dosage of cream when you start using the dermaroller, because rather than sitting on the surface of your skin, the medication will enter inside your skin through the micro-abrasions, and so a weaker dosage is recommended.

For people will mega-sensitive skin, the commercially available strength may be too much to handle and can result in side-effects.
If this is the case, you can speak to a pharmacist about preparing a weaker compound blend for you.

Just remember, the Retin-A that you’re using can be cut by half or more when using the dermaroller because tretinoin is being going directly into the skin rather than resting on the skin's surface.
