Well I have two tattoos one on my forearm and one on my top right arm. I have had the one on my top right arm for about 4 years now and it faded a little bit but not much. The one on my forearm looks like it did when I had it done. I don't think it's normal for your tattoo to fade to much unless they didn't do a good job. I would go back to the place you had it done and ask them if it look right and they will be able to tell you.
