Is Piercing The Nose Painful?

The nose has quite a lot of nerves running through it which means that nose piercings can be quite painful, however the level of pain all generally depends on the individual and how much pain they feel.
Despite this however, a lot of people say that getting their nose pierced did not hurt a lot. Some people say that it hurt less than getting their ear lobes pierced. The only thing they said was that it made their eyes water and their nose tingle. Have you ever banged your nose and got a horrible tingling sensation that has made your eyes water? That is the feeling that they have compared it to.
A word of warning that many people appear to give is that you should go to a place where they use a needle to pierce noses instead of a gun. Piercing guns are meant for ear lobes where there is no cartilage, unlike the top of the ear. Needles are better to use in places with cartilage because using a gun comes with the risk that the cartilage might shatter upon the piercing.
People advise that if you tell the piercer that you are nervous when you go in to get the piercing then this tends to help, for reasons unknown. A lot of places may also apply a small amount of numbing gel to the area getting pierced which may help to alleviate the pain.
What you need to remember is that the pain will only be there for a temporary moment, although it may feel sore afterwards. When you are getting it done, just grit your teeth and deal with it and afterwards you can apply some ice or a cold flannel and take some painkillers or Ibuprofen to help get rid of some of the stinging.

I'm 10 and I got mine done today on a scale of 1-10 it was a 5! So not bad at all!!!

Like Seriously, Ih Am SUPER Scared Of Needles And Pain, And Ih Was Getting Ready To Cry And Scream, But When She Did It, Ih Was Just Like "...Oh...Is That It?" And Then Laughed At Myself. Ih Mean, It Does Hurt, But Like Not That Much, Hurts WAY Less Then Getting Your Ears Peirced!!!. Like Seriously Lolz. Oh Yeah, Just To Warn You, don't Wear Mascara, Beacause Your Eyes Do Water, But Thats Only Because Your Nose Is Conected To Your Eyes So Yeah. Lolz. If Your Scared don't Be. Don't Let A Little Pain Stand In Your Way If You Really Do Want To Get Your Nose Peirced. Its Just Like A Pinch, Seriosuly.

Honestly? Yes it does hurt, but it's really nothing to be afraid of. Sure it hurts, a lot but it only hurts for about three seconds, literally. No more.
& Your eyes will water up because of the nerve system in your nose, but it's worth it.
I really love my nose piercing, but make sure You take good care of it otherwise It can get infected real easily.

When You get it done, make sure it is with the needle, not the gun otherwise it can cause a lot of complications.

But you should really consider getting it done, Like I said, it was really worth it. :)

It varies from person to person and if the piercer knows what they are doing. Everyone handles pain differently. Which area are you getting pierced? I have my nose pierced it didn't hurt and it brought a tear to one eye... Not like crying from pain, but something that happens to most when they get their nose pierced. I have not had it done, however my mom did. She and I both had our tongues pierced but I could not go through with the nose piercing. The thought of it scared me. Although, I think it looks beautiful with a tiny diamond stud. Anyway, my mom said it was the worst pain. Not to scare you away from it. Some people don't have a problem with the pain. What hurt her may not be bad for you. If you want it go for it. Pain doesn't last forever ! ! !

No, I got mine done about 2 weeks ago, and it didnt hurt me at all. I don't have very high pain tolerance either. But I think it just varies from person to person. My aunt got hers done & she said hers hurt really bad. The only thing is your eyes do water.. But thats just what usually happens anyway. I love nose piercings, I think you should go for it! (:

I personally don't believe it is painful., but then again I can handle pain., I have 10 piercings and to me none of them hurt., I have 3 in the lobes of each ear., one in each cartlidge., my nose., which I did myself., and my belly button! I love all my piercings and to me NONE of them hurt you just have to have someone who knows what they are doing!!! ♥

I have nt had mine done personally ive did it by my self and when you get to the last layer of skin it starts to make your eyes water and your nose goes numb......make shure you have ice to keep on your nose while piercing it.....and neaver use earings to pearice your nose have studs and also make shure your nose is kept clean or you will get bad infections**    ~Jessica~

NO, the nose piercing did not hurt at all; it didn't even tear my eyes.....I'm 56 years old, and it didn't bother me one bit. So, if you are thinking about getting it done......go-for-it.

To me it just felt like someone plucked a nose hair.. It kinda made me tear up in one eye for a second.. But that was it..

Not at all I have two nose piercings, and neither were even the slightest bit painful.

It all depends on your pain tolerance level...personally I have the worst tolerance to pain and I just got mine done a week ago and it didn't hurt too bad.

I have 6 tattoo's, four children, and my nose piercing was the worst pain to date!  I got really lightheaded and queasy afterwards as well.  Like someone else said, it doesn't last long.

I think that that nose hurts more than the belly ... I got my belly and nose pierce and the nose hurt more then the belly..

Nah I have had it for a month and a few days. It hurt for a few days but I got used to it.

YES! Well mine hurt horribly, but as others have said, some people take pain better than others. I had my lip pierced 2 days ago, and that didn't hurt at all, and I've had tattoos done that didn't bother me, so go figure...
