What Age Should You Start Wearing Makeup?

If your mom says OK, and you are mature enough, then I think a light touch of blush, lip gloss and maybe mascara would be fine.  Don't over do- or you will look silly and made up!

I am 12 and I wear lip gloss, eyeliner and mascara.
You can wear make up whenever you feel the time is right.
I started to wear it when I was 11 as most of my friends wore it then.
Just don't doll yourself up and keep it light.

There is no time when you "should" wear makeup. Some girls start at 10; some girls don't start at all. When you feel ready, start wearing it; though, don't overdo it. Don't make yourself look like a clown, or a raccoon for that matter (the "raccoon eyes" look seems to be popular with the teenage set... Uck!).

I am twelve and I wear the slightest bit of foundation to cover annoying blemishes and freckles on my checks!! I also wear a light brown or sparkly yellow-brown eyeshadow and mascara! I don't really do lip gloss! But it looks pretty natural!

My mom doesn't let me wear makeup but to play around . If I could I would only wear a tiny tiny bit of barely noticeable eyeshadow .I have glasses so it doesn't show as good  . I think 11 is an good age to start if you wanted to. If your just starting I think Clair's is a good place to get your first makeup.

13 is the best age.

My mum doesn't let me but I put lip gloss, a bit of mascara and sometimes a tiny bit of blush. I constantly remind her next year I'm in year 7 but she still says no but I might be able to sneak some makeup and makeup remover in to my school bag so I can put it on then take it off with out her knowing.

I wear makeup and I'm rather young,ive seen girls at my school look like clowns with all the crap they put on their face. Keep it light as I do so yea have fun with it like I do

Well I am 11 and all I wear is I bit of blush a lip gloss.I try not to make it noticable and I try not to cake it on.

I believe it depends on the girl.  I would say you can start wearing light makeup, like eyeliner and lipgloss like you are.  That is how girls usually start, and if you get to where you want to try other kinds then go ahead.  I would just keep it light, so it don't look like you have much on so it looks all natural.  Have fun!

just a word of advice regarding the makeup, once you start to wear it you will find you won't want to be without it, it's actually quite addictive! I feel youngsters should really think about covering their faces with cosmetics as the natural fresh look is far more healthier and attractive.
Makeup clogs the pores in the skin and can actually cause spots, it also ages the skin prematurely.

I started wearing makeup about mid 6th grade year but I just wore eyeliner with a neutral eyeshadow,lip gloss,and once in a while tinted moisturizer. I'm in 7th grade now and wear the same thing but foundation and concealer when I break out.. I don't break out worse unless I leave my makeup on but I think 12 years old. 11 is pushing it but as long as you clean your makeup off completely every night and moisturize you should be good!!!!

I'm 13 in 4 days and I only wear eyeshadow,lip gloss,mascara and eyeliner. I  think you should start wearing light make up at 11 or 12 or maybe even 13. Some girls in my class wear a ton of makeup but I like to keep it neutral and don't forget to wear miosturizer its a life saver!

I started to wear lip gloss when I was 9 ( I know, maybe I'n kinda messed up....) . Right now, I'm 11 and no one in our grade (5 grade going 2 6 grade in september) wears makeup except for a couple of girls but they only wear lipgloss and eyeliner. It doesn't really make them popular though... Even the 6 grade doesn't do it, so I would say at least you would have to 13 to start..... Maybe I'm wrong...

Well I'm am 12 and some girls in my grade wear makeup and I secretely wear eyeliner and foundatoin and eyeshadow if I had some. But it all depends on your parents and surroundings if your parents say its okay then I would do it. And its part of growing up

I woud say aroung 12 or 13 when your in like 7th grade or 8th but I think the perfect age is when your 13

It depends on an individual and the society you live in.Certain societies like in Africa don't allow children to wear make up until when they are mature enough, which is not the case in european countries.There is no specific age to start wearing make up ,it can be worn at any age after birth.Only that the type of make up varies according to one's age.Some may be harmful to children due to strong chemicals in them while the adults may use it.So one can wear make up at any age.

I am 11, Going on 12, And I don't wear that much make-up I have to say! I do have LOADS of make up and I am a girly girl, But I only wear to school, Moisturizer (every girl has to!), clear mascara, lip balm/lip gloss and a very light eye shadow. I think you can start at any time you like, But not to over do it...Because you don't want to end up looking like a clown! Also I wouldnt start wearing eyeliner, foundation until I'm 12/13 as I don't need it!!!..Well, I am bragging, and I do use concealer but I don't really think its necessary...
Its just my oppinion...Please do not take offence to it!

Whenever you feel it is right. I was 11 when I started wearing makeup, and tbh, I sucked. But ive gotten a lot better at it. I like makeup because I feel it is a way to express myself. If your very young then at least do makeup in a room with really good lighting, because I used foundation that was a lot darker than my skin tone, so I ended up looking really stupid. 

I believe you should start wearing eye-liner when you're 10 years old.I say that because when you get into the double digits in your age,your skin starts to develop and becoming mature enough for you to start putting toxics on it.For make-up,I don't know.I think you should start make-up when you're at least or above the age of 13.
