A school uniform consists of a limited range of clothing, including footwear and head-wear. It identifies students as belonging to a particular school. Schools usually expect students to wear the uniform during school hours, while traveling to and from school, and when engaged in school activities out of school hours. One of the chief benefits of school uniforms, say proponents, is that they make schools safer. Uniforms are said to reduce gang influence, minimize violence by reducing some sources of conflict, and help to identify trespassers. Parents benefit because they are no longer pressured to buy the latest fashions, and they spend less on their children's clothing. Having a uniform stops gang members from displaying their colours and garb. The schools also believe it helps stop violence and helps instill a sense of pride in the students. It also helps to break down the barriers between different socioeconomic groups. I feel we should keep to the uniform. It sets an example of the school. It is representation the community. It is easy to point out different people. Also there would be more fights/bully due to the lack of 'fashion'. "

School uniforms make sure that every pupil is dressed the same so that those with wealthy parents can't discriminate against those who have less money to buy expensive clothes. Also. Its harder to skive off school while in uniform as you will be easier noticed especially if you get into trouble while doing so. Another reason is to instal a sense of pride in your school. Many people still wear the school tie at special functions. So while its a bit of a bore, there is solid logic behind it. :)

Ridiculous...It is correct that wearing uniform is a way of abiding the rules and regulations in a system and or an Institute of education, but without wearing uniforms can be a resource for the students to express themselves appropriately through the clothes that they wear. The students will be much more in confidence as well as in focus without wearing a systematic dress code which is considered to be the only clothing that can be worn in the school. The students will less likely to concentrate on their education and might not study deliberately as doing so in uniforms rather than in colorful cloths.

Because that is the school rule. Sorry, but life isn't fair. Wait until you graduate and go to work, you may have to wear a uniform there also. Just grit your teeth, put on your big girl panties and deal with it.

Well according to my calculation it best to wear a uniform because if a stranger walks on campus we can identify him and serve him some justice also because it very very trendy in africa

School uniform is good for people because there is no pressure for having the best clothing, looking weird, everyone will look the same so that eliminates the pressure of what you look like...I know that it isn't fun to wear that stuff but do what you have to do so you don't have to do it again....lol

The only uniform I remember wearing in public school was the one for gym class.  I hated changing into this uniform because I was small on top, when all the other girls were beginning to wear bras mine was just a training bra.  Anyway I would have preferred to wear my own shorts and a T-shirt.

1. Student who wear uniforms to school are more discipline than the one who don't...

2. It is to standardize student body...e.g primary school uniform colour differ from high school...

3. Pre-you/ Form 6 ( Lower six and Upper six) uniform colour are up to the certain School to choose...
cause they are not consider under Ministry Of Education but are under Ministry Of Higher Education(the one who handle University Student Affairs/Intake).... There's a different....

No kids shouldn't have to wear uniforms. If you stop and think uniforms actually cost a lot more money than they used to. And as for trespassers they could go to a local walmart by uniform colors and intrude on campus as if they were a student themselves!!! Not to mention uniforms take away our creative freedom and individuality. Plus kids still get made fun of for the clothes they wear it's still obvious when someone is less privileged uniforms don't help with any of it!!

Students shouldn't be forced to wear them.it kills your personality and the real you. How are the teachers or other people going to know who or what you really are if you look like the people around you?
