It is reported that the legal age of getting a tattoo in Ohio, U.S.A. is 18 years. This is the legal age that is set in all the states of America. A person is considered to be a minor if he is less than 18 years of age. If a minor gets a tattoo, legal action can be taken against the minor and the person who has given him a tattoo. All tattoo parlours ask for an age proof before starting with the tattoo. Previously, the legal age was fixed at 21 years of age but after 1972, it was changed to 18 years of age.

In the state of California, Ohio, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana for example, they require you to be 18 to get a tattoo. Most states are changing laws to make tattooing minors illegal. Some other states do allow tattoos at age 16 with parental consent.
