It is important to note that the amount of time needed for dreadlocks to locks up will vary from individual to individual. It will depend on a number of factors, such as the texture of your hair, environment, treatment etc. Patience is the key word as it may take from six months to even a year to achieve that full fledged look.

There is no way in which you can rush your dreadlocks, they will grow as fast (or slow) as they please. Don't forget to take good care of your scalp. You might want to occasionally rinse your hair to maintain hygiene. Try to roll the hair using your fingers once you finish showering. You can use a shower cap if showering is messing up your dreadlocks.
