I suspect that shock can do it.
The daughter of an acquaintance of mine was murdered (this was many years ago).
He lost all his hair in the following few weeks.
Other than old age and stress, what are some reasons people may be prone to hair loss (esp sudden hair loss)?
A couple of things that will cause this is too much Vitamin A and lack of protein although other than stress, most male baldness is hereditary. My Mother and Father both had full heads of hair into their late 70's before passing away. Probably why at 64, I have a full head of salt and pepper hair.
Medications. Genetics.
