I saw one stand-out. A very large girl had a musical staff, with a treble clef and an assortment of notes, tattooed across the top of her breasts. It looked fine, but I couldn't help wondering whether, if she kept putting on weight, it would grow into a full-blown symphony.

I have no tattoos :) but I was married to an amazing tattoo artist so I know lots about them ... The besterest ones are the ones with meaning behind them or a brilliant story that inspired them . Besterest is a word cos I said so. Also neck tattoos suck even if have meaning ... Cos I said so.

It's a combination of bold black and red "paint-like" strokes and realistic and very detailed designs.
Here's a good example:
A tattoo of your muscles underneath the skin, but instead of actual muscle fibers they're strips of bacon.
I have seen some photos of some great tattoos over mastectomy scars. You can do an online search and see what I mean.
Tattooed eyebrows 
I think it's great that people that have no eyebrows for one reason or another can get them done.

In a parallel world I'd be doing tattoos, I think.
Mind you, I'd much rather do the tattoos than get them.
