Hello!

You haven't said what you're looking for in a perfect lipstick, but I thought I'd give you some of my thoughts about how to choose a good lipstick shade according to your skin tone! It depends whether your skin is fair, medium, olive or dark.

Fair skin tones

Fair skin tones really suit burgundy red or bright pink shades, and also any orange-based lipstick colours. Kate Bosworth has apparently said "The bolder the better!" You could try a colour like this:

ModelCo Party Proof lipstick in 'Flirt', £12

Medium skin tones

Berry pinks or cherry reds are perfect lipstick colours for people with medium skin tones, and they can give a really bright finish to a killer outfit. If you don't like wearing bold lipstick colours, nude shades also look really great on medium skin.

This Maybelline Coloursens nude lipstick is just £6.99.

Olive skin tones

Apparently this season's hottest lipstick shades are the best for olive skin! Bright, poppy orange hues look great on this skin tone. Any yellow-based lipsticks will look great with this beautiful skin colour. Try Seventeen Lip Crayons in 'bold', it's only £4.99:

Dark skin tones

Darker skin tones have the benefit of being able to pull off almost any lipstick shades! But I think the best hue for darker skin is purple - it gives such a unique look. You could try Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in 'shameless' (£7.99):

Hope this helps. Also, you could continue on your quest for the perfect lipstick by watching this video I found on YouTube:
