Scientific name of the sweat glands is sudoriferous glands. There are 2 types of sweat glands. Eccrine sudoriferous glands and apocrine sudoriferous glands. Eccrine sudoriferous glands are present on whole body and are in high quantities on palms, soles and forehead. Apocrine sudoriferous glands are present in armpit and groin area. As the skin ages, it becomes thinner and loses elasticity and becomes fragile. Some of the sweat glands and oil glands are also lost and the end result is skin dryness.
