It could just be dried puss around the ring which is normal unless the puss is green, or the original rind they pierced you with is to short. Most likely it is puss, but never change the ring yourself if you feel it really is the ring go to the shop and have them do it. I would go to the store and get plain ordinary salt that doesn't have iodide in it. Then put the salt in your bath water and soak your belly button... I found it easier to put a pinch of alt in an 8 ounce cup of warm water and held it on my belly button. The salt will actually speed up the healing process, and remember you should still clean the piercing 2-3 times a day with unscented antibacterial soap. Always wash your hands before touching the piercing!!! Oh and soaking it before you clean it helps get the crusties off, never pick the crusties off or pull the belly ring away from the crusties because it can cause small tears and make healing time even longer.

LIFE SAVER!! Thanks i have been putting Epson salt in a shotglass with warm water and that has helped the redness and pain ALOT! I am washing it with antibacterial soap and using H2Ocean but I have been pulling the belly ring away from the crusties....But I am going to Stop as of now...lol. Ok another Question is the bar to short if when i push on the button ball and i can see the bar on top?

Naval rings take a while to heal due to waistbands and it always being in constant friction. Keep it clean. I have had mine for 15 years healed quick and I swap out my rings based on my clothing choices :) have fun with it

Well I have had mine for almost a year....
At first I thought something was wrong with mine and I was also cleaning well. The skin will be stuck to it for awhile. Just you could maybe try to clean it more than 2 times a day. Make sure when you're just chillen or whatever ahha;have clean hands and move it around, up and down etc.

If you're saying the skin is growing over the ring it might be migrating but in my mind that doesn't sound right because it's not a surface piercing.

I hope that helped
