How Long Do Acrylic Nails Generally Last?

I would say one month is how long your acrylic nails should last on average.
If they are only lasting a few days you should change your nail technician, as that is appalling!

I have mine done once as month and then she has to soak them off otherwise they would probably last around 6 weeks before they started falling off. If they are coming of after a few days it sounds to me that they are using cheap quality products.

It's better to spend that little bit more for ones that are going to last 3x longer. 2 weeks is the bare minimum they should stay on for, but really they should last around 4 weeks.
And if they do come off after a few days go back to the salon and tell them to put them back on! They should do this free of charge as every nail technician knows they are supposed to last a lot longer than a few days.

Acrylic nails are found everywhere now and many local beauticians and hairdressers offer this service, which can be done on the fingers and the toe nails.

The styles vary from the classic French manicure look, to nail tips and full nail art. In the French manicure look, the person's own nails are cut very short and their nails are prepared for the false acrylic French nail, which is then cut to size. If your own nails are in good condition and a reasonable length, you can have an acrylic coating applied over them.

This strengthens the nail itself, preventing it breaking and tearing and the nail is then usually covered with a coloured polish. Because the underlying acrylic surface is a better one for the varnish, these nails don't chip or fade and look good still after two weeks.

Nails of both types need to be infilled every two weeks though – because the nail grows at the bottom leaving a gap. Infilling is cheaper can be done many times, so, if you have the money, you can have perfect nails for as long as you keep going for the infill treatment.

Most last about 2 weeks and they start running you can go get a fill and they will last longer but they really don't look that good anymore after the 2 weeks.

It depends on who does them. My best friend does nails and I had them on for a long time - over a year, until I decided to just grow my real nails out. Do NOT let anyone put porcaline on your nails, it kills the nerves and does a lot of other damage. Most of the time, little cheap Asian places use that stuff, so it is best to avoid them.

Possibly for two weeks I had some on a few day and they popped off, but I went swimming with them on. Probably not the best thing to do right?

I wore them for years with no problem, but finally decided they were too much trouble; they look great for about ten days but then all you can think about is that you need to get them done again, and so about every 2 weeks, there you are at the nail salon, so finally I took them off, cut them very short, and paint them a deep red.  It's fine, and I think healthier, certainly cheaper.

Ive started using fake nails last year, I went to the beauticians and got them done , now I use the cheep ones you can find anywhere, they last about 1-2 weeks but you have to apply a lot of the glue that comes with them for them to last longer then a couple of days, then after 1-2 weeks they usually just start falling off, you have to clean your nails fully before putting them on, and hold them down for about 2 minutes and they should stick.

I just buy the fake nails from the store and the cheaper ones last about a week or so. Do not get clear with the decorated tips because the glue will show through the fake nail.
