Small red itchy bumps on your stomach could be caused by a number of things. The most likely cause is a food allergy. Food allergies do cause red bumps that itch but they will not have a head on them like a pimple. A food allergy is an immune response to protein in foods. This happens when the body identifies a protein as harmful and flares up externally. This is common with foods such as soy, wheat, fish, eggs, barley, nuts and milk. The skin symptoms caused by these food allergies vary. The most common is hives. Hives fall into a few categories, the most common of which is linked to food allergy. This is known as acute urticaria, and can appear very quickly after consuming a food that the body is allergic to. The symptoms can last for several weeks, and there is an anti-diabetic drug on the market that can reduce the allergic reaction showing in this way. Another skin symptom is Edema. This can appear as a result of an allergic reaction to food, but it is also common for Edema to flare up because of skin contact with certain types of plant. Another symptom, which can be caused as a result of contact with plants, is Contact dermatitis. Contact dermatitis is a rash or irritation on the skin that is caused by contact with any foreign object or substance. The regions affected are only those that are visible, that is the skin. This rash appears quickly after contact and is normally large, red, burning and itchy. This rash can take several weeks to disappear altogether. A plant that can cause contact dermatitis is Western Poison Oak, which is very common in the United States. Other plants that commonly cause contact dermatitis are poison ivy and poison oak.

My daughter has had this same problem. A cluster or 'patch' of little red bumps that itch her badly. My thought at first was that it was her belt buckle, which she had never worn before. Since she has had metal allergies before. But now I'm thinking it very well could have been food related. Most likely it will be fine and go away quickly like hers if you try benadryl cream, or oral benadryl liquid. I work in a hospital and have learned from the doc's and nurses is that if it itches its an allergy of some kind. These otc remedies usually work. Good luck!

You most likely have something in your diet that your body doesn't agree with. Try some Benadryl, and also try to find out what food or lotion is causing this. Are they new, and what have you done differently that could possibly make you react this way?

It sounds like you might have the scabies. Try to google scabies rash images & see if the rash is similar. If so, you will have to get a presciption for a steriod cream to rid you of the condition. There is also an extensive clean-up process with the home bedding's that you will need to take care of so that you don't get it again.

Have you been checked for shingles? If it is a possibility you need to see a DR. And shingles 99% of the time show up on the abdomen first. They will begin to make that part of the abdomen to hurt as well.

It can be Chicken pox, Measles, Hives or an Allergic Reaction to something. If you are not sure and it worsens for a week or more, you should consult a doctor.
