Have you or your other half ever grown a beard? How did you/they get on? Did you/they get comments about "The Beard" from others?

I've had some sort of beard for about 25 years now. I have some friends and relatives that have NEVER seen me clean shaven.

Usually the only time I don't have a beard is during an extremely hot summer. I shaved mine off a couple months ago but it has grown back already. My wife doesn't mind it but she says I look a lot younger when it is shaved.

My partners gets told he looks younger without it. The reason why I asked about comments is because he seems to have unknowingly joint this weird beard appreciation club, he gets comments nearly every time we go out "great beard mate" love the beard" Fantastic beard," he's had men stop him to ask him how long it took to grow, he has had men beep their horns and shout out "Beard!!!" and others doing prayer hands to him. He's worked hard all his life, taken two years to grow a beard and he gets compliments and remarks all the time lol! I think he's become quite attached to it now. :D

I've gotten compliments on the beard before and feel awkward when I don't have one. Even the tellers at my bank asked when I was growing my beard again just after the last time I shaved. My daughter-in-law wanted my son to grow a beard because she thought I looked good with one. LOL! So he did. :)

My hubby grew a beard when he was about 30. He has dimples and a cleft chin that he hides with it. I don't mind either way. No one really commented on it.

When my partner first grew his beard I had to go through the chaffing phrase, he'd planned to grow it for a year to see how long it would get having never grown a beard before. Every time we kissed I felt like I'd been scrubbed with a brillo pad, red and sore round the outside of my mouth. He then shaved it off after 3 months and wish he hadn't. So I had to go through that chaffing phrase again. I said you better stick to the plan this time because I don't think my face can take that exfoliating again. It's now been 2 years and it really is quite some beard :D

Yes for the past seven years I have had a full  beard. Previous to that I always sported a mustache, primarily a fu-man-shu. Now I have gone 100% silver. I have a great time during the Christmas holidays.

Had a full beard since the early 1980's, the only times I had to shave it off was when visiting Gas plants, as a person was not allowed in unless they could use a Scott Pac (air respirator ) and the beard would not allow the facial mask to seal properly (These were sour gas plants, H2S and SO2 were possible dangers.  SO2 is the rotten egg smell, H2S, well if you smell it, you are dead)

The girls liked it, said it was soft.

Thanks Korvo, my man found the mask thing a problem too, when drilling concrete because of the dust.

You know Walter she and I are best of friends. I have asked her to give me her secret to her unique exquisite beauty and she says I have to remain friends with her at least 10 years before I am let in on that little secret. 😣

Yes, since the late 60's.  Went fishing for 10 days and didn't shave. When I got back and started to shave it off, I decided to trim and shape it.  I liked it---end of story.

I always keep it about 1/4 inch long.

I think some men do suit a beard. When I met my partner he was clean shaven, I then saw him in the supermarket one day with a twelve o'clock shadow and thought "Hmmm Hellooo!"

My boyfriend often has stubble and I like the way it looks. Not sure how I'd feel if he grew a full beard.

Me, I can't grow one due to my pathetic amount of facial hair,.
