I have found that the best way to look after skin is to do the following:
- Wash twice daily with a mild soap or cleanser
- Drink water as often as possible
- Get plenty of sleep - 8 hours if possible
- Use a good moisturiser, especially in cold weather. Not only does the cold affect our skin, the heat from radiators indoors can dry it.
- Make sure to use sun protection in summer months
- Drinking alcohol and smoking can make the skin look dull so if you can avoid these your skin will look more radiant.
- Never go to bed without washing your face (and if you are female, removing your make-up). Drinking a glass of water before bed is also a good habit to get into.
As you can see from the list above, there isn't really one treatment or solution that will keep your skin problem free; instead it's all about maintaining a healthy lifestyle (diet and exercise), practicing good hygiene, and getting into a treatment routine that works for your skin.
Remember that, just like fingerprints, everyone's skin is different!
