Try washing your hair in the sink with cold water separately from your
regular showers. When you shower, keep your hair wrapped up in a shower
cap.

To help your hair grow it must be healthy, so no hair dryers or straighteners, keep it clean, don't use hair product so much and go to the hairdressers to trim the dead ends off every couple of months. It will grow, just give it time.

Look at the shampoo you use, don't wash it all the time. Get perms if you need them, wait til like 6 or 7 weeks and don't always keep it in a ponytail, that takes out your front hair and if you want it thicker, keep it braided ..

It does take some time for hair to grow and I know it is hard to be patient during this time but believe me, it is worth the wait.

Getting your hair trimmed every 6 weeks or so will help as the dead ends will be cut away. Choose your hairdresser carefully though, mine is a little scissor happy, so I grow it to a good length and she chops it all off again, it's a vicious circle!

If you really can't wait to grow your hair, or want to make sure it suits you long, you could look at getting extensions but bear in mind that they are expensive, time consuming to have put in and need a lot of aftercare. If you do decide to do this please choose the hairdresser very carefully as the wrong type, or even the right type incorrectly applied, can ruin your hair.

Lastly, you could get a wig until your natural hair grows. It would certainly keep you warm during winter and some of them look very natural now. However, in my opinion the first option, to look after your hair and have patience, is the way to go.
