Hi
I know exactly how to make a hippie shirt. Get an old shirt preferably a white one. Fold the shirt up really small and apply elastic bands or string like you would do to a chicken or a turkey. Fill a saucepan with a good fabric die of your choice (allways remember to follow instructions) and leave the shirt in for about an hour. Take it out and leave it overnight. In the morning remove the elastic bands or string and open the shirt out it may be a bit crusty and hard but that's the whole point. Add another die of your choice to the saucepan along with the orginal die (blue and purple are verry effective) and put the shirt in as it is. No elastic bands or string. Stir it around with a wooden spoon and leave it for another hour. Take it out leave it and when you look at it next you'll see a hippie shirt. Remember to wash it before you wear it to soften it. Trust me it works, I've tried this with my sons shirt and it worked a treat.
