Should you button your top button when wearing a plaid shirt? It seems like it is a new trend.

Hah! You've noticed that too! The "top button" question is one I've asked myself many times and I think the only real answer is "do what makes you happy".

This is my dear friend Darren. He apparently knows a thing or two about fashion, and he's been guilty of the plaid shirt/top button done-up combo on many occasions.

On the other hand, I've heard many people criticise that look (I've even had people criticise me for dabbling in this dark art) - so I wouldn't worry about whether it's trendy or not.

If you've still got room to breathe and you think it looks cool, then do that top-button up proudly!
