I just pierced my lip two days ago, it only takes about four or five min for it to nearly heal after taking it out (I have to around my mom). But its easy to put back in and doesnt get too irritated by chageing early on. Just have a lip ring thats big enough for your lip, it will swell. And earings are no good to have in your lip, the backs will eat away at your lip skin.
