Will covering a tattoo with plastic wrap hurt the healing process?

Yes, it must breathe. You only cover a new tattoo with plastic if your swimming in a pool, or working around chemicals. For that time period only.

Yes it has to be able to scab up, and needs to be dry to do this. If you cover it up with plastic the wound (which is what it is) will stay moist and open to infection.

Yes your skin needs fresh air to heal or the skin will die especially if the skin has been compromised in any way, so don't it unless like Lynne says to protyect it for a brief time
