Not to sure about the price of them but I read this article with the pros and cons about them. This article is a few months old though. Wouldn't work for me with that tiny screen.

At its core it's a watch. Which you have to charge every 3 - 48 hours depending on use. However it is a nifty gadget that's small and light.
Is $300+ worth the price?
I have a feeling if it were made by Tamagotchi and not Apple we could minus a digit.
