Arthroplasty is a surgical reconstruction or replacement of a malformed or degenerated joint. It is done for rheumatoid arthritis patients. This surgery restore the function of the joint. The parts of the joints, are sometimes replaced with metal or plastic parts.

Actually orthoplasty is a word. It's the operation used to correct some kinds of penis malformations such as chordee and some forms of micropenis.Can't care if this is ages old, it still can be useful for someone.
