I use a rubber mallet and an anvil. I wrap one end of the spoon with the soft rubber "netting" that I also use as a shelf liner. You can also get it already cut in circles to use to help you open jars. I use a pair of pliers to hold the rubber and spoon, I then start gradually hitting the fee end of the spoon with the rubber mallet while holding it against the anvil. A pipe would also work. Just gradually move the spoon handle over the anvil while hitting it with the rubber mallet. Don't be afraid to whack it hard. Also, don't try to bend too much of the spoon at once. Baby steps will get you there every time.
