Guess my answer would biased as I rarely wear shoes unless I have too. If it's hot there, just wear some sandals !

I wish I could tell you to not wear shoes. I love being barefoot. How about before or after shopping you take off your shoes at a nice grassy area and have a nice cold lemonade.
Many places have safety rules that demand you wear shirts and shoes in their businesses. If you live in a beach town .. You might be able to go barefoot in more places though.
