Would you rather be remembered for having done something for humanity or being a really nice person?

I'd rather be remembered for both but if I had to choose I'd like to leave a legacy behind for humanity.

I'd rather do something.  Nice can be meaningless; it depends upon the context.  Kindness has a much better connotation.

There was a great song from "Into the Woods."  🎼 "You're not good.  You're not right.  You're just nice."

I think acts of kindness that make the world a better place is the way to go.  That goes beyond being kind to your fellow man.  I truly believe that benefiting nature serves humanity as well.

P.S.  The Broadway play of "Into the Woods" was waaaay better than the movie.

Chances are that six months after I've shuffled off this lovely old planet the only people who'll remember me will be my kids. I'm happy with that. Most of us are pretty ordinary; we are unlikely to be remembered except in the stories old timers tell about us.

If they tell any about me I hope it will be with a smile.

Why would it have to be one or the other .. Personally  I would like to be remembered for numerous attributes ..  Not just one event .
