I'm self conscious about my body weight and showing off a lot of skin. I have eczema on my body so I like to wear tankinis instead of bikinis.I'm going to a pool party soon, with girls who are ok with their bodies...how can I feel more relaxed?

Just wear what you would normally wear and don't worry about what others think. People who say or give you funny looks are usually ignorant or very shallow. Just go and have fun and don't even think about what others think. True friends won't ever say a word. Go have fun! You'll be relaxed around real friends.

Who cares what other girls think (they are nothing to you), walk past them with your head held high and show that you are a confidant strong person. Don't even give them a second look (those bullies dislike confident people). Enjoy your life and don't let other people and what they think control you.
(i walk around with 2 canes because chronic arthritis destroyed my hip joint and people do stare but I don't give a damn because i know I have made big progress over the past few months and they mean nothing to me).

Skunky is right. Don't even worry about what they think. Just be yourself and you'll feel relaxed and comfortable. You'll see. If someone is bothered by it then just know they are ignorant.

There's only one way to get relaxed, Don't care about others. Who cares what they say or think ? You're great the way you are. Be comfortable in your skin & enjoy life. Don't let others take your true self & joy, This life is yours, So enjoy it as who you are & how you are. You are worrying about type of people that aren't worthy by the real meaning. Those people that you're worrying about, they are total losers that feeling empty by personality, They have problems enough so why would you be worry ? If this behaviour makes them feel better, let them do  what they want, You just ignore & keep having fun, Trust me, Just all you need is believing yourself. Ignore all the negative words or looks, Keep your chin up & be confident with yourself Proud of yourself & enjoy the party.

Honestly, all of us spend way more time thinking about how we look and what others think, when in reality people don't really take that much notice (they are usually busy worrying about what they look like too).

I get a heat rash on my hands when it's hot, and I used to worry about it when I was in highschool, but then I learned that people usually react to how you react, rather than the condition itself...

If you feel like you really will be self conscious about your eczema then maybe you could wear some swimwear or an accessory that will take attention away from it... A bright color or an interesting accessory or whatever.

Another idea (that is going to sound a little harsh maybe) is that you could watch one of those documentaries about people who have much more severe skin conditions. I find that watching that kind of stuff really puts smaller health problems like eczema into perspective.

I put up with my hands breaking out for years, I finally found a doctor that diagnosed me properly, here's what he said...the condition is called dyshidrosis....it occurs due to constantly having your hands moist....washing, dish washing, oil...he told me to keep my hands out of water, or dry them immediately and thoroughly after washing, use a mild non scented soap, dove for sensitive skin....absolutely NO hand lotion..I know, I know I couldn't believe it either, he gave me a prescription for a potent steroid cream called ultravate. I took his suggestions, applied the cream, after about a week and a half, my hands were healing. Now, I continue to "be careful" use the cream occasionally, but all in all 100% better with no incessant itching!

Thank you Kass! And I don't take offense to that last idea. I have looked into those documentaries about how to treat eczema, but mine is too stubborn to control. It's really bad, but I'm trying everything!!
